Greetings from Love Chapel – it is my hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and preparations are well on the way for an enjoyable and meaningful Christmas season. While Christmas can be quite busy, it is also very fulfilling as we contemplate the real reason for the season, the birth of Jesus Christ!
As we move forward to finish off the year, I am so thankful for the many people and volunteers who work to reach out to the rural areas of our county to provide food and love to those with needs. Did you know that Love Chapel sponsors four Mobile Outreach Pantries every month in various parts of the county? These Outreach pantries take the place of a regular visit to the pantry but save clients in the rural areas time and gas money by bringing the food to them.
Each Month, the following Mobile Outreach Pantries are provided:
First Tuesday – 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM – Elizabethtown United Methodist Church
Second Wednesday – 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM – Taylorsville United Methodist Church
Third Thursday – 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM – Bethel Baptist Church (Deaver Road)
Fourth Tuesday – 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM – Hope Town Square
On Thursdays, we have a group of volunteers who pack the bags for the Mobile giveaway at our off-site Love Chapel Warehouse. On the day of, two drivers load up what was packed, in addition to fresh bread, desserts, milk, eggs, and meat and go to the distribution site where everything is unloaded and gotten ready for the pantry. Then another group of volunteers is there to complete the intake process and load the food into individual cars.
The food received at these Mobile Outreach Pantries is equivalent to what a visit to the main pantry would get. It is a great way to get food out to our neighbors in the county, which often are some of the most in need residents we have. To support this ministry, you can sign up to volunteer, or donate needed funds for this ministry – just visit Home – Love Chapel
Thanks,
