Get Help

Food

Nobody should go hungry, and you don't have to.

Obtaining groceries can be a huge financial burden, but we can help lighten the load. For individuals interested in long-term resources, we have a variety of food pantries to provide healthy essentials at no cost.

For a full list of schedules and locations, see below.

Am I eligible?

We want to offer food to anybody who needs it, but in order to do that, we have a few eligibility requirements to receive support.

First, to ensure that we can help as many people as possible, we can only allow one monthly visit to the full pantry, which is about 7-10 days of food, and one weekly visit to the produce/bread pantry.

Second, we ask that you provide proof of residence, which can be a piece of mail or any of the alternatives listed below:

  • Utility bill
  • Rent receipt
  • Prescription bottle
  • School correspondence
  • Postmarked, self-addressed envelope

Your proof of residence must include your name, mailing address, and date within 30 days of the pantry visit.

How to receive help

Bring proof of residence.

This can be a utility bill, rent receipt, prescription bottle, school correspondence, or even a postmarked, self-addressed envelope.

Visit the main pantry or an outreach pantry.

The main pantry is open Monday-Saturday from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM.

Evening hours and mobile pantry hours are listed below in the FAQ’s.

Get some food.

Monthly full pantry visits include frozen and canned meat, fresh and canned fruit and vegetables, milk, eggs, pasta, breakfast food, peanut butter, bread, and more.

Weekly visits include fresh produce and bread.

Hungry now? We have hot meals too.

Sometimes you need to eat something sooner than you can cook a load of groceries, which is why we also offer hot meals every week at several locations throughout the city.

Yes! We will provide a load of groceries at a food pantry one time without proof of residency.

My friend or family member lives in the same apartment as me. Can we both get food from Love Chapel?

No, only one monthly visit per household for a full pantry load and one weekly visit for a smaller produce/bread load.

How do you verify income?

We do not check income. Life is complicated, and any number of circumstances can suddenly change someone's financial situation. We want everyone who is in need—whether temporary or long-term—to be able to get food from Love Chapel.
