We have so much going on, I thought in this post, I would recap a few things to know that have happened and alert you to some upcoming events!

Winter has come and gone (I think), so with that, we came out of Winter Contingency at the shelter. For those that do not know, November 21^st to March 21^st, individuals can stay at the shelter, whether wanting to work the program to get re-housed or not. A lot of the people staying during those months are those who live in camps during the warmer weather months, then stay at Brighter Days during the winter.

Because of the tremendous rainfall and flooding, many of these campers have lost their tent and belongings over the last week. We have re-opened winter contingency to give the individuals a chance to get their feet under them. This allows them to have a place to stay, until they can return to their summer living arrangements. We plan to at least do this for a week, we will evaluate and possibly extend it after that. During the worst of the storms, over 20 individuals were rescued from the high water. Please keep them in your prayers.

As we move towards Holy Week, we have two very special events. Please plan to join us at the Commons on Good Friday, April 18^th, at noon. We will be offering our community-wide Good Friday Service. Please plan to join us for this meaningful service – no charge to attend.

On Saturday, April 19^th – join us for a special program at the Lex – formerly North Christian Church at 2:30 PM. Handel’s Messiah will be presented by the Columbus Philharmonic and Asbury United Methodist. Tickets are $25 and all proceeds benefit Love Chapel. The tickets are going fast but are still available at Handel’s Messiah Sing- Along Concert and if seating is still available, will be sold at the door.

Please also mark your calendars for the upcoming 4H Fair and the Love Chapel Food Booth. This year’s fair will run from June 20th to June 28^th and our booth will be open from 7AM to 9 PM, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In addition to the normal fair food, there will be several special events and dinners, including Altogether for Good BBQ night, a special Pizza Day, a Meatloaf Dinner night and a Band Night with special live entertainment. Come join us each day for great food and great fun.

Also, please mark your calendars for Taste of Columbus on October 2nd at the Commons, Worship in the Park coming up on October 5th at Donner Center, and our Blue Christmas Service at the Commons on December 7^th! More details will be available later on these events!
